FasTrac 246 Mortar Tech Data

How to Apply

Surface Preparation (See ICRI guidelines)
For repairs, perform surface preparation in accordance with ICRI Technical Guidelines. Concrete must be sound and fully cured (28 days). Remove all unsound concrete and roughen the surface for better bonding.  Remove all laitance, oil, grease, curing compounds, and other contaminants that could prevent adequate bond. The concrete substrate should be saturated surface dry (SSD), without standing water, before application. Apply the mixed material onto the prepared SSD substrate by trowel or screed. Minimum application thickness is 1/2-in and extension with pea gravel is recommended for applications greater than 6-in. Finish the completed repair, as required without overworking the surface.

Reinforcing Steel
Remove all oxidation and scale from the exposed reinforcing steel in accordance with ICRI Technical Guideline No. 03730 “Guide for Surface Preparation for the Repair of Deteriorated Concrete Resulting from Reinforcing Steel Corrosion.”

Mixing
Mix with required amount of cool, potable water for desired application characteristics, from 5.5 to 6.5 U.S. pints per 60lbs. (27.2kg) bag. Conduct field trials to verify proper consistency, yield and a thoroughly mixed product. Can be extended with coarse aggregate up to 100% by weight.
